Privacy Policy

Sajdah Pro collects nothing about you. No accounts, no adverts, no analytics, no tracking, no profiling. Your settings, habits, streaks, prayer log, counters and reading position stay on your device.

Three things leave your phone, each only when you choose it:

1. If you play or download a recitation, your device requests the audio file from everyayah.com. That server sees your IP address, as any web server does.
2. If you search for a city by name, the query goes to Apple's mapping service. Apple handles it under Apple's own privacy policy.
3. If you write to us from the feedback screen, your message reaches us. That is the one thing in the App we receive, and section 6a sets out exactly what it contains.

We receive the first two not at all. We hold no database of users and there is nothing to sign in to.

1. Who we are

Sajdah Pro is published by Kheir Studio Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 17341526.

For UK and EU GDPR purposes, Kheir Studio Limited is the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with the App.

2. Scope

This policy covers the Sajdah Pro iOS app, its Apple Watch companion, and this page. It does not cover Apple's own services, or everyayah.com, which have their own privacy practices.

3. What stays on your device

All of it. Your settings, your prayer and habit records, your counts, and everything you save or mark while reading.

This is written to your device's own storage. It is included in your iOS backups according to your settings, and it is deleted when you delete the App. We never see it.

4. Location

Sajdah Pro uses your location to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. The calculation runs on your device using an offline astronomy library. Your coordinates are not sent to us and are not stored by us.

You can set your city manually instead. If you type a city name into the location search, that query goes to Apple's mapping and geocoding service, which returns matching places. Apple processes it under Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive, log or store your searches or your chosen location.

You can withdraw location permission at any time in iOS Settings. The App stays fully usable with a manually chosen city.

5. Quran recitation audio

Recitations are hosted by everyayah.com, which publishes per-verse audio files. When you play a verse or download a surah, your device fetches those files directly from that server.

That request necessarily exposes ordinary technical data to everyayah.com: your IP address, your device's user agent, and which files you asked for. This is how any web request works. We do not operate that server, we receive no copy of those requests, and we cannot see what you listened to.

Downloaded audio is stored on your device and played from there, so a surah you have downloaded needs no further connection.

If you never play a recitation, the App makes no network request at all.

6. Notifications

Prayer alarms are local notifications, scheduled and delivered by your device. No notification content leaves your phone.

6a. Feedback you send us

If you use Settings, Rate and feedback to write to us, tapping Send transmits what you wrote to Kheir Studio Limited, together with the app version and device details, and the name or email address you type into the optional reply field. Nothing is sent unless you tap Send, and the screen lists everything attached before you write a word.

The reply field is optional and exists so we can answer you. Leave it blank and the message reaches us with no way to identify or contact you. We ask for nothing else: no account, no location, and no identifiers.

Sending is an ordinary web request, so the receiving server sees your IP address, as any web server does. We do not use it to identify you and we do not keep it.

We use all of this only to answer you and to fix what you have reported. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f), in supporting and correcting the App, and where you have asked us a question, performance of a contract.

We use it for the feedback and for nothing else. Not for marketing, not for a mailing list, not to build a profile of you, not to train anything, and not to work out who you are. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone beyond the two processors named below whose only job is to deliver it to us. If you gave us a reply address, it is used to reply to you about what you wrote, and for nothing else, ever. When the message is no longer useful for the report you sent, we delete it.

Two providers are involved, each acting only on our instructions: one hosts the endpoint the App sends to, and one delivers the message to us as email. We keep the message only for as long as it is useful for answering you and fixing what you reported, then delete it. Please do not include anything sensitive; a feedback form is not a secure channel.

You do not have to use it. Everything else in the App still collects nothing, and the App makes no network request of this kind unless you choose to write to us.

7. What we do not collect

No advertising identifiers. No third-party analytics or measurement SDKs. No cross-app or cross-site tracking. No contacts, photos, microphone, camera or health data. No special category data.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising within the meaning of the California Consumer Privacy Act. There is nothing to sell.

8. Legal bases

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies:

Where PIPEDA applies, we process personal information only with your knowledge and consent, for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate, and consistently with the ten principles in Schedule 1.

9. Sharing

Apart from feedback you choose to send us, we share personal data with nobody.

Data is handled by Apple (App Store, notifications and map searches), by everyayah.com (recitation audio), and, for feedback only, by a hosting provider and an email delivery provider acting as our processors on our instructions.

10. International transfers

We are in the United Kingdom. Apple and everyayah.com may process requests outside the UK. Our feedback providers may process a message outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on the appropriate safeguards required by UK data protection law.

11. Retention

We keep nothing except feedback you choose to send, and only for as long as it is useful. On-device data stays until you delete it or delete the App.

12. Your rights

UK and EEA

Under the UK GDPR and GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdrawal of consent. You may complain to a supervisory authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk; in the EEA, your member state's authority, listed at edpb.europa.eu.

Canada

Under PIPEDA and substantially similar provincial law, including Quebec's Law 25, you have the right to be informed of the purposes of collection, to access and correct personal information we hold, to withdraw consent, and to challenge our compliance. Complaints go to us and to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

United States

Where state law grants rights to know, access, correct or delete personal information, you may exercise them as set out below, without discrimination.

How to exercise them

In practice these rights are already satisfied: we hold no personal information about you, and everything the App stores is on your device and under your control. Deleting the App deletes all of it. If you want confirmation of that in writing, or have any other request, email us at the address in section 16 and we will respond within one month.

13. Children

Sajdah Pro is suitable for general audiences and collects nothing from anyone, children included. There is no account, no profile and no content submission.

14. Security

Our main safeguard is collecting almost nothing. Data that is never collected cannot be breached, leaked or subpoenaed, and the only thing we receive is a message you chose to write. The credential that delivers it as email is held server-side and is not present in the App.

Network requests made by the App use HTTPS, enforced by Apple's App Transport Security.

15. Changes

We will update this policy when the App changes, and before launching any feature that processes data differently. The current version and its effective date are always at the top of this page, and the same text is readable offline in the App under Settings, About, Privacy Policy.

16. Contact

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, your EEA supervisory authority, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as applicable. This policy does not limit any statutory rights you have where you live.
